Dr Paul AntonisThe team and patients at Melbourne Heart Care all mourn the sudden and sad loss of our much-loved colleague, friend and dedicated practitioner, Dr Paul Antonis.
Paul had an amazing presence and there was never a dull moment when he was consulting at Brighton or Linacre.

His knowledge, caring nature, generosity, sense of humour and smiling face will be missed by us all here at Melbourne Heart Care every day.

Still skating after heart attack.

Our own Dr.Paul Antonis featured on channel 10 and 7 News this week, discussing the amazing story of one of Melbourne Heartcare’s patients Beverly; a 67 year old mother of two and ice skater, who had a massive heart attack whilst on the ice.

After Dr Antonis operated on her she was back on the ice just 7 weeks later. Below is some footage of the report.

Tension runs high but surgeon scores medical first

STICKING a needle through a living heart is always a tense moment. The tension was even higher yesterday, as physicians at Southern Health’s MonashHeart performed an Australia-first operation that could improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of people with heart arrhythmia.

Watched by experts from around the country, Dr Jeffrey Alison carefully pressed his catheter needle into the septum separating the top two chambers of the patient’s heart.
